STAR TREK FEST...Stardate 41022.6...Laila's Log.

Laila's Log, Stardate 41022.6.  Per Captain Picard's orders, we set out in a small scout vessel.  Our mission: to search the Gamma Quadrant for Captain Zena Nix.  After hopping through the Bajoran wormhole, we came upon her abandoned ship, her entire crew in a state of cryogenic stasis, waiting for first contact.  And the captain now looked like this....

In order to avoid assimilation we had to divulge all our Star Trek secrets, and, most important, never let go of the pink tribble.

Favorite Star Trek Characters:

#1) Captain James T. Kirk.  (Funny womanizer who doesn't take any guff.)  I have enclosed some fun quotes from a few of the characters.

"Mr. Spock, the women on your planet are logical. That's the only planet in the galaxy that can make that claim." -- Kirk (Elaan of Troyius)

Kirk: Damn it, Bones, you're a doctor. You know that pain and guilt can't be taken away with a wave of a magic wand. They're the things we carry with us, the things that make us who we are. If we lose them, we lose ourselves. I don't want my pain taken away! I need my pain!

#2) Dr. Leonard Mccoy.  (He is good to the last drop, a man of honor,
and he cracks me up.)

  • "I signed aboard this ship to practice medicine, not to have my atoms scattered back and forth across space by this gadget." -- McCoy (Space Seed)
  • "By golly, Jim... I'm beginning to think I can cure a rainy day!" -- McCoy (The Devil in the Dark)

#3) Spock.  (Everything must be logical, yet his human side is quick to interfere.)

Kirk: Spock, where the hell’s the power you promised?
Spock: One damn minute, Admiral. -Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home

Live long and prosper.  Well yeah, they're born pregnant.

#4) Captain Jean Luc Picard.  (The man has read everything from Shakespeare to the sticky notes in my purse.)

Make it so Number One.

They made a great couple.

#5) Lieutenant Commander Data.  (He has earned a place in Star Trek history.)

An android who would love to be human and has a chip that gives him human emotions.
Does anyone remember the name of his cat?

You're skilled in how many ways of pleasing a woman?? :)

Characters who received an honorable metion. (Both from DS9)

1) Jadzia Dax.  (She's beautiful, funny, and I always wanted her spots.  Who cares that there's a worm living inside her filling her with past life memories. She was cool.)

There was no excuse for killing her off.

and

Odo...Mercury-like guy who turns from liquid to solid and blends in.
He had the hots form Kyra, and she wouldn't give him the time of day.

BONUS: Best Villains Ever.

The all-knowing Q.

Tell me you don't love to hate him.

And

Borg Queen

Hussey.
She was cool.

One little tribble
Another little tribble.

Burried in tribbles.

#1 Best Star Trek episode ever:  The Trouble with Tribbles.  This goes hand in had with DS9 remake: Trials and Tribble-ations.  (Fun Tribble Pics Ahead.)

#2 Best Episode: Mirror Mirror.

Kirk, Scotty, and Uhura trade places with their doubles from an alternate universe.

Next Generation has a similar episode that tied for number 2.  All the actors come together in this one.

#3 Best Episode: Friday's Child

The Enterpise becomes involed in a power struggle.  Klingons are involed.
A newborn baby gets named after Mccoy and Kirk.  Even in the future there exists baby talk.

#4 Best Episode: Return to Tomorrow.

Kirk and Spock allow their bodies to be used by intelligent beings to build themselves bodies.
Way cool.

#5 Best Episode: Mudd's Women

Wives for sale, and a little pill that makes you pretty.

BONUS EPISODES: This is for hubby who was a sport and helped me search for some of these.

The City in the Edge of Forever.

Doctor Mccoy goes back in time.  Kirk goes to find him.
I think he likes this one because Joan Collins is in it.

Shore Leave.  We both liked this one.

Imagine a planet where you can live out all your desires just my thinking them up.

Now for favorite movies.  Brought to you by...

Locutus

#1

A bunch of whale save the Earth.  Kirk and Spock practice colorful metaphors.
Spocks swims in his undies.
And I rewound it ten times just to hear Kirk say "double dumbass on you."

#2

Picard and crew go back in time to stop the borg from assimilating Earth.
This is our first appearance of the Borg Sphere.  Check it out.

#3

The new Star Trek rocks!

Wait, where's my pink tribble?
Where are my tribbles?!

"Just before they went into warp, I beamed the whole kit and kaboodle into their engine room, where they'll be no tribble at all."

Scotty..nnoooo!!!!

We will add your individuality to our own.
You will become part of our collective.
Resistance is futile.

We have been assimilated.
We are now 2 of 420.

Hold on to your tribble or you might be next.

Hope everyone enjoyed the show.

Have a great Monday!

...^-^...

  2. Awesome, Laila! That was so much fun. Very clever. ;)
Loved the tribbles and prolly remember that one the most from my childhood. Loved the colorful metaphors in Star Trek 4. Classic.
And of course love to hate Q. I even had a cat named Q. Hee hee.

  3. Wonderful post, Laila. I love your pictures and your humor. And you reminded me of some episodes I loved, too, but forgot.

    Sucks to get old.

  4. Oh, and Data's cat's name was Spot. Seems appropriate that the android who wanted to be a man should give his cat a traditional dog's name. I wonder if the cat had delusions about being a dog ...

  5. LOL. Great post. I love Star Trek! Especially anything with Captain Pickard. He's my captain.

  6. Spot! The cat was Spot.
And how can one not like the DS9 return to Tribbles? That episode was hilarious.

  7. Awesomeness, Laila. I liked the new movie as well, thought it did the series justice. And Jean-Luc could read from the phone book and make it sound amazing, not to mention that he makes torture look easy. "There are FOUR lights!!"

  8. Except for the tribbles, most of that went right over my head.
