Laila's Log, Stardate 41022.6. Per Captain Picard's orders, we set out in a small scout vessel. Our mission: to search the Gamma Quadrant for Captain Zena Nix. After hopping through the Bajoran wormhole, we came upon her abandoned ship, her entire crew in a state of cryogenic stasis, waiting for first contact. And the captain now looked like this....
In order to avoid assimilation we had to divulge all our Star Trek secrets, and, most important, never let go of the pink tribble.
Favorite Star Trek Characters:
#1) Captain James T. Kirk. (Funny womanizer who doesn't take any guff.) I have enclosed some fun quotes from a few of the characters.
"Mr. Spock, the women on your planet are logical. That's the only planet in the galaxy that can make that claim." -- Kirk (Elaan of Troyius)
Kirk: Damn it, Bones, you're a doctor. You know that pain and guilt can't be taken away with a wave of a magic wand. They're the things we carry with us, the things that make us who we are. If we lose them, we lose ourselves. I don't want my pain taken away! I need my pain!
and he cracks me up.)
- "I signed aboard this ship to practice medicine, not to have my atoms scattered back and forth across space by this gadget." -- McCoy (Space Seed)
- "By golly, Jim... I'm beginning to think I can cure a rainy day!" -- McCoy (The Devil in the Dark)
Kirk: Spock, where the hell’s the power you promised?
Spock: One damn minute, Admiral. -Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
Live long and prosper. Well yeah, they're born pregnant.
Spock: One damn minute, Admiral. -Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
Live long and prosper. Well yeah, they're born pregnant.
#4) Captain Jean Luc Picard. (The man has read everything from Shakespeare to the sticky notes in my purse.)
Make it so Number One.
They made a great couple.
An android who would love to be human and has a chip that gives him human emotions.
Does anyone remember the name of his cat?
You're skilled in how many ways of pleasing a woman?? :)
1) Jadzia Dax. (She's beautiful, funny, and I always wanted her spots. Who cares that there's a worm living inside her filling her with past life memories. She was cool.)
There was no excuse for killing her off.
and
Odo...Mercury-like guy who turns from liquid to solid and blends in.
He had the hots form Kyra, and she wouldn't give him the time of day.
BONUS: Best Villains Ever.
The all-knowing Q.
Tell me you don't love to hate him.
And
Borg Queen
Hussey.
She was cool.
One little tribble |
Another little tribble. |
Burried in tribbles. |
#1 Best Star Trek episode ever: The Trouble with Tribbles. This goes hand in had with DS9 remake: Trials and Tribble-ations. (Fun Tribble Pics Ahead.)
#2 Best Episode: Mirror Mirror.
Next Generation has a similar episode that tied for number 2. All the actors come together in this one.
#3 Best Episode: Friday's Child
The Enterpise becomes involed in a power struggle. Klingons are involed.
A newborn baby gets named after Mccoy and Kirk. Even in the future there exists baby talk.
#4 Best Episode: Return to Tomorrow.
Kirk and Spock allow their bodies to be used by intelligent beings to build themselves bodies.
Way cool.
#5 Best Episode: Mudd's Women
Wives for sale, and a little pill that makes you pretty.
BONUS EPISODES: This is for hubby who was a sport and helped me search for some of these.
The City in the Edge of Forever.
Doctor Mccoy goes back in time. Kirk goes to find him.
I think he likes this one because Joan Collins is in it.
Shore Leave. We both liked this one.
Imagine a planet where you can live out all your desires just my thinking them up.
Now for favorite movies. Brought to you by...

A bunch of whale save the Earth. Kirk and Spock practice colorful metaphors.
Spocks swims in his undies.
And I rewound it ten times just to hear Kirk say "double dumbass on you."
#2
Picard and crew go back in time to stop the borg from assimilating Earth.
This is our first appearance of the Borg Sphere. Check it out.

The new Star Trek rocks!
Wait, where's my pink tribble?
Where are my tribbles?!
"Just before they went into warp, I beamed the whole kit and kaboodle into their engine room, where they'll be no tribble at all."
Scotty..nnoooo!!!!
We will add your individuality to our own.
You will become part of our collective.
Resistance is futile.
We have been assimilated.
We are now 2 of 420.
Hold on to your tribble or you might be next.
Hope everyone enjoyed the show.
Have a great Monday!
...^-^...
I am truly in pink tribble heaven!! Thank you for a fabulous pink tribble tribute to trekkers tremendous titbits!! Take care

Awesome, Laila! That was so much fun. Very clever. ;)
ReplyDeleteLoved the tribbles and prolly remember that one the most from my childhood. Loved the colorful metaphors in Star Trek 4. Classic.
And of course love to hate Q. I even had a cat named Q. Hee hee.
Interesting post :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful post, Laila. I love your pictures and your humor. And you reminded me of some episodes I loved, too, but forgot.
ReplyDeleteSucks to get old.
Oh, and Data's cat's name was Spot. Seems appropriate that the android who wanted to be a man should give his cat a traditional dog's name. I wonder if the cat had delusions about being a dog ...
ReplyDeleteLOL. Great post. I love Star Trek! Especially anything with Captain Pickard. He's my captain.
ReplyDeleteSpot! The cat was Spot.
ReplyDeleteAnd how can one not like the DS9 return to Tribbles? That episode was hilarious.
Awesomeness, Laila. I liked the new movie as well, thought it did the series justice. And Jean-Luc could read from the phone book and make it sound amazing, not to mention that he makes torture look easy. "There are FOUR lights!!"
ReplyDeleteExcept for the tribbles, most of that went right over my head.
ReplyDeleteData and Q were my childhood crushes. Yes, I said that out loud :)
ReplyDeleteStopping by from L.G.'s blog :)
Wow! Now that's a thorough blog! Well done. All hail the ink tribble.
ReplyDeleteOMGosh that's a way long post LOL! Full of tribbles. I loved Kira too. Great Captain Nix Borg Queen. :O)
ReplyDeleteOMG. I'm in Tribble heaven! I want a pink one!
ReplyDeleteI so loved this post. You've made my day!
Borg Queen, ewwww! So many tribbles... I'm drooling.
ReplyDeletetrials and tribble-tions...
ReplyDeletegreat share of the star trek universe.

I will reply to all comments after I'm done checking out everybody's Trekkie blogs. :)
ReplyDeleteI was so upset when Jadzia died.
ReplyDeleteI like the pink tribble pic-- and was happy to see you get lots of use out of it. ;)
ReplyDeleteDATA'S DAY was one of my favorite STAR TREK episode. And Gypsy, my cat, was sure SPOT was a reincarnated her! Great post, Laila, Roland
ReplyDeleteAwesome post. I loved your blurbs on everything (and the tribble pictures were hilarious). It seems they are still quite popular in the trekkie universe.
ReplyDeleteAnd nice characters to pick as your favorites- we have a few of the same :)
H-ha. Awesome post, Laila!! I have no idea where to begin. You completely captured why I loved it, why my mother loved (Make it so number one), and why we're all so excited to do this fest.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your list and your presentation very much.
ReplyDeleteWhew! You love you some Star Trek.
ReplyDeleteCaptain Kirk and Spock will always be my favs. :)
Lol, lol, lol! Louv the comments, the pics, everything:) Great post!
ReplyDeleteVery fun post! But you simply cannot go wrong with a Star Trek post!! It's fun, nostalgic and popular all in one. It's bound to get tons of hits even without the blogfest! So GREAT! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteSo many tribbles! *LOL* Data's cat was Spot. And yes, I loved to hate Q!
ReplyDeleteI love Captain Picard, Data, Kirk, and even the Borg Queen. What an adventure it was to watch all these shows, only to be able to do it again with my sons. Excellent pics, Laila. Girl, you rock.
ReplyDeleteOkay, for starters...big smile for everyone. I've had a blast visiting each Trekkie blog.

Unfortunately for me, Star Trek never caught my interest although I certainly appreciate that it has captivated so many people over so many years. That's a pretty amazing feat.
ReplyDeleteTribbles are fab. I enjoyed your list. We had a lot of episodes in common. My husband loved the Mudd episodes. It was so hard to pick just 5. The Kirk is my fav, too.
ReplyDeleteTribbles are just hairballs from Data's cat! Loved the post. Very funny.
ReplyDeleteI am just loving your posts. That insane brand of 'stream of consciousness'. I appreciate that I can't finish your sentences in my head.
ReplyDeletewell played, well played answers here

Great post! The dialogue in The Voyage Home was just delicious wasn't it? I couldn't disagree with most of your choices - but no, I don't love to hate Q. I just straight hate him!
ReplyDeleteGreat choices! I'm a huge fan of the original and the new movie too! The castings are so eerily familiar that it's perfect! :)

Laila! I love this post!! :) So fun, and loved the pink tribbles throughout. That was such a fun episode, the original and DS9's flashback. And looks like someone beat me to it, but glad to know I remembered Data's cat's name correctly - Spot. Tribble long and prosper!
ReplyDeleteI had a giggle at the pink tribble...
ReplyDeleteI've never seen Star Trek before--*ducks*--but after reading this post, I feel like I've experienced some small part of it! :)
ReplyDelete@Lisa. Too bad. There are so many aspects to love.
ReplyDelete@M Pax. Yes we do. Mudd got his at the end though. I was glad for that.
@Clarissa. Hairball. LOL. That's a lot of spewing for that poor cat.
@KAL. Happy to keep you guessing.
@J littlejohn. Glad you think so.

Looks like a popular post--you sure don't need little old me anymore. I don't appreciate Star Trek at all and can't remember much of it. Congratulations on having a very successful day!
ReplyDeleteThat was a really fun listing! Thanks for participating in the blogfest and helping us relive great Star Trek memories!
