MORE WORLD BUILDING

FELLOW BLOGGEROOS: IT HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION THAT I'VE DEVELOPED A BLOGGING ADDICTION.  IN ORDER TO COMBAT SAID ADDICTION I'VE DECIDED TO REDUCE MY POSTING TO THREE TIMES A WEEK (MON,WED, FRI) DURING FREE DAYS I WILL DEDICATE MY TIME TO OTHER STUFF, LIKE MY WRITING.  I LOVE YOU ALL.

ON WITH POSTING

THIS IS THE DOORWAY TO MY UNTROUBLED KINGDOM.  ANYONE OUT THERE WHO IS FANTASY SAVVY AND LIKES ALL THIS STUFF AS MUCH AS I DO SHOULD KNOW THAT THE WORDS "UNTROUBLED KINGDOM" ACTUALLY TRANSLATE INTO "DIFFERENT REALMS."

SO SINCE WE'RE IN AGREEMENT THAT
                      THIS IS A DOORWAY.

                            YOU TELL ME.

                     WHERE DOES THIS LEAD?

WHAT'S WAITING ON THE OTHER SIDE?

                             IS IT FRIENDLY?

AM I MISGUIDED AND THIS IS JUST THE ENTRANCE
TO HEAVEN?...AH, BUT WAIT, THAT IS A REALM ALL
 ON IT'S OWN.

                         WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?

Happy Thursday!  One day closer to the weekend.  Tomorrow I'll post something cute...I promise not to be naughty.  :)

This one's for Alex  :)

QUESTION FOR FELLOW BLOGGERS.  HOW OFTEN DO YOU POST?

  1. Hi, Laila! Nice to meet you. Thanks so much for commenting on my interview on Donna's blog. Very much appreciated.
I LURVE your blog graphics. So purty! And that gateway is definitely to somewhere I'd have fun making up. World-building is my fave. As for blogging, I've had to cut way back since we're in the middle of an epic house move. I aim for twice a week and if I can fit more in, I do. :)

  2. Hey, I only post once a week! Don't feel bad, and I'm glad you're shaving your schedule back. You have to have time for life--and writing. No one seems to mind that I only post once a week. If every writer would only post 1-3 times a week, we'd ALL have more time to write!

    LOL--love your "bloggeroos" term.

  3. @PK. Hi to you too. I'm assuming I don't follow you yet, but will do. It's hard to keep track of everybody. Thanks for loving my blog, will check out yours. :)

@Carol. Thanks for sharing that. It makes me feel letter. I agree that we need time for life...which is not to be found glued to a PC. As it is I stop looking at blogs as soon as I leave the day job. I am married after all. :)

  4. My goal has always been to post once a week. Lately, I've been posting a bit more often, but then again, it's been a lot of fluff--awards, memes, contests--and not much substance. I would rather post less often & have something truly relatable than just write for volume.

I've always been amazed at how often you post. I seriously don't know how you do it. And I worry when I miss commenting on one. Now I can relax a little!

  5. @Nancy. There's no way we can keep up with all the blogs and comment on each one. Don't worry. I usually get up really early so I can check out the blogs or else I'd never be able to comment on anything. Considering I try to squeeze in a workout during lunch, that doesn't leave me much time. I write my posts on the weekend and Blogger publishes them at 6:00 AM every day, but it takes a while, and frankly it is all time I could use to work on my WIP. :)

  6. Oh please be naughty, something tells me that I might greatly enjoy your naughtiness :). You are full of surprises, I adore women who lack the normal dose of ordinary. It is truly a pity you won't be posting as often, maybe you'll reconsider...
    Many kisses, naughty ones :).

  7. M,W,F. And it's STILL a huge time suck!

  8. Gotta watch those doors. Like in 'The City on the Edge of Forever' they can bring you grief.

  9. @Unikorna. Not to worry. My naughtiness will not stay dormant forever...it's an inborn trait. I'm going to try the 3 day thing for a while. Seriously, have to work out, write, sleep, attend to family. This blogging stuff really sucks up your time. Kisses to you too. :)

@Lydia. I hear you. Your numbers just keep rising. I'd have to give up sleep altogether to follow that many blogs. :)

@Donna. Now, now, let's think positive. This is a nice door, a pretty door. There are charming alien creatures on the other side holding roses. There, I feel much better. :)

  10. I only post once a week--unless there's a meme/award going around--so I can completely understand your wish to cut back. Honestly, I spend the rest of my weekly blogging allotment trying to keep up with comments. If I posted more often, I wouldn't be able to interact and develop relationships within the writing community. So, please, enjoy your new schedule. We don't want you getting burnt out and disappearing on us. ;)

  11. There seem to be blue skies through the door . . . so I'm hoping it's friendly! :)

It depends. I usually post 3-5 times per week, usually 3 or 4. I don't try sticking to a schedule, since I'm never really sure when I'll have time to blog.

  12. I'm sure Alex appreciates your gift there. I say it looks a lot like the Guardian of Forever. So it's the same kingdom, different time.

  13. My goal was to post twice a week, but sometimes if the mood strikes, I'll throw in an extra. I like to read everybody else's stuff, so it's hard to do more than that and still do things like regular writing, family stuff, eating, toileting, etc.

Better tell Alex to be careful. Chick is carrying three things that could put an eye out.

  14. I posted six days a week in April for the A to Z challenge. Afterward, I went to three posts a week. When I started writing my current novel last month, I dropped to blogging two days a week. It's still a lot of work, but manageable.

  15. Laila, those are the days I post and it works for me. Of course, I'm still online those other days, reading blog. Crap, no wonder I haven't started a new book yet!

  16. I try to post three or four times per week. I spend more time visiting other blogs then I do preparing my own posts. Love all the pictures.

  17. Hi, Laila! Naughty's good if you're really bad...or is that bad if you're really good at it.

  18. I think it's important to give more time to your writing. I only post 3 times a week as well and I take the weekends off from all forms of social media.

  19. I am woefully short on blogging material. I try to blog once a week but it doesn't always work out that way!

  20. Hi Laila:

Just wanted to pop in and say "hi." I know what you are going through. It's always amazed me how often you post. I'm kinda at a crossroads with my own blogging career. Giving several things a lot of thought. I will, of course, keep my fave and first follower in mind with updates.

  21. LOL! We all come to that conclusion at some time or another. I sometimes give myself blog breaks to break the addiction and get other things done, it also means I can come back to blogging fresh. :O)

  22. @Carrie. Thank you. It seems the most the majority is posting is three times a week, so I feel pretty good now. Besides, I'd like to have more time to visit blogs other than the crack of dawn. :)

@Golden Eagle. That's funny, the part about not trying to stick to a schedule. I as never one for schedules until someone taught me how and messed with my spontanaity. :)

@Rusty. Guardian of Forever. Huh, nice. I'm going to be thinking about that all day now. :)

@Julie. I hear ya. And the older you get the faster time goes. Did I ever tell you you're hilarious? :)

@LG. Wow, six days a week to blog is too long. I'll bet you're more comfortable now. I don't know how you guys keep up with other blogs, honestly. :)

@Alex. Yup, I know those are you days. I'm copying you so that I can still visit your blog at the crack of dawn and still be open for comments. You should get going with that next book. :)

@Susan. Thanks. That's the norm I see. I think it'll work out better for me next week. Besides, as the end of the year approches it gets hairy here. :)

@Norma. Naughty is perfect in the righ circumstances or if I happen to feel like it. It's never really bad unless thinking makes it so. :)

@Lynda. I agree. I try to prepare my posts ahead of time so at least that part won't get in the way. It should move a lot quicker now. :)

@Lisa. Your posts are exceptional and teach us a lot about forging ahead to publishing success. I enjoy them, and I know you're there so I just wait. :)

@Bryce. Hey Bryceroonie, have you moved yet? Well I hope that in being in a crossroads you don't drop of the face of the blog. Keep in touch. :)

@Madeleine. That is a very good point, kind of like setting your current WIP down for a few days and picking it up fresh. Nice. :)

Thank you all for sharing your thoughts. :)
