Something Different for a Friday.

For anyone who's read Heaven is for Real, I've posted the art gallery belonging to the little girl (child prodigy) who painted these amazing prints.  She and the boy who wrote the book swear up and down that her picture of Jesus is what he actually looks like.  I don't know how true it is, but her paintings are lovely.  (what can I say.  I'm a closet artist.)

Also, for any of you who have been following the flood, I've posted some pictures.  An ocean in Omaha?

This is the Ameristar Casino in Iowa.  I can see this from my building at work.

This is the inside of the building.

Hotel

Parking Lot

Pretty Impressive.

At one time Nebraska had an ocean running through it.
There are even sharks in the museum.

I'm glad I live in Bellevue.

Have a great weekend.

  1. Wow. Those pictures are stunning and scary at the same time. Reminds me of the Mississippi a few years ago. I don't envy you.

I DO, however, have something for you at my blog. Come on over to get it.

  2. Love the blog header and statement, love your profile, love the optimism, love that Bryce gave you the award too so I could find you. Too spooky that we've both recently been affected by floods - I'm in Australia! I'm following!

  3. Why thank you, Cheryl. Glad to have you aboard. It is terrible about the floods. With us it's the Missouri river. Always wanted to go to Australia ever since the Crocodile Dundee movies. One of the funniest characters in one of my WIPs has an Australian accent. Hopefully you'll get to see him in print one day.

  4. Hi Laila, so nice to meet you too! I had wanted to comment last night but I was so tired, I was going cross-eyed.
I love your blog, did you paint the picture of the fairy? It's awesome!
I had never heard of the young artist, I went and checked out the link, holy crumbcakes, she is amazing. Unbelievable.
Also, wow, I didn't realize there was so much flooding, I haven't watched the Weather Channel in awhile.
We had floods here 4 years ago. It's so crazy!
    Fantastic pictures though!
P.S. I would love to see your artwork!
    Heather :)

  5. Heather, I wish I could credit for the fairy, but I pulled it of the net. I might post some of my mediocre pictures soon though...^-^...

  6. Hi Laila, scary pictures, and I can't begin to imagine the clean-up effort afterwards.

I've no idea how I stumbled across this site, but I'm glad I did. You joined my followers a while ago but Blogger is a bit random about what info it shows when you click on a link in the followers list, so I couldn't track you back to your blog.

  7. Oh my goodness! Such powerful images. I can't even imagine a flood like that. I hope you and yours are safe during all of this.

By the way, I'm so glad to be following your blog now. It seems like it'll be a lot of fun. :)

  8. @Botanist. Hi, I'm glad you're here. I have been following you for a while, but I noticed you took a short break. Glad to see you back.

@Carrie. Hi Carrie, glad to have you here. Fortunately for us we live far away from the flooding, but some of my friends aren't so lucky.
