STAR TREK FEST...Stardate 41022.6...Laila's Log.

Laila's Log, Stardate 41022.6.  Per Captain Picard's orders, we set out in a small scout vessel.  Our mission: to search the Gamma Quadrant for Captain Zena Nix.  After hopping through the Bajoran wormhole, we came upon her abandoned ship, her entire crew in a state of cryogenic stasis, waiting for first contact.  And the captain now looked like this....

In order to avoid assimilation we had to divulge all our Star Trek secrets, and, most important, never let go of the pink tribble.

Favorite Star Trek Characters:

#1) Captain James T. Kirk.  (Funny womanizer who doesn't take any guff.)  I have enclosed some fun quotes from a few of the characters.

"Mr. Spock, the women on your planet are logical. That's the only planet in the galaxy that can make that claim." -- Kirk (Elaan of Troyius)

Kirk: Damn it, Bones, you're a doctor. You know that pain and guilt can't be taken away with a wave of a magic wand. They're the things we carry with us, the things that make us who we are. If we lose them, we lose ourselves. I don't want my pain taken away! I need my pain!

#2) Dr. Leonard Mccoy.  (He is good to the last drop, a man of honor,
and he cracks me up.)

  • "I signed aboard this ship to practice medicine, not to have my atoms scattered back and forth across space by this gadget." -- McCoy (Space Seed)
  • "By golly, Jim... I'm beginning to think I can cure a rainy day!" -- McCoy (The Devil in the Dark)

#3) Spock.  (Everything must be logical, yet his human side is quick to interfere.)

Kirk: Spock, where the hell’s the power you promised?
Spock: One damn minute, Admiral. -Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home

Live long and prosper.  Well yeah, they're born pregnant.

#4) Captain Jean Luc Picard.  (The man has read everything from Shakespeare to the sticky notes in my purse.)

Make it so Number One.

They made a great couple.

#5) Lieutenant Commander Data.  (He has earned a place in Star Trek history.)

An android who would love to be human and has a chip that gives him human emotions.
Does anyone remember the name of his cat?

You're skilled in how many ways of pleasing a woman?? :)

Characters who received an honorable metion. (Both from DS9)

1) Jadzia Dax.  (She's beautiful, funny, and I always wanted her spots.  Who cares that there's a worm living inside her filling her with past life memories. She was cool.)

There was no excuse for killing her off.

and

Odo...Mercury-like guy who turns from liquid to solid and blends in.
He had the hots form Kyra, and she wouldn't give him the time of day.

BONUS: Best Villains Ever.

The all-knowing Q.

Tell me you don't love to hate him.

And

Borg Queen

Hussey.
She was cool.

One little tribble
Another little tribble.

Burried in tribbles.

#1 Best Star Trek episode ever:  The Trouble with Tribbles.  This goes hand in had with DS9 remake: Trials and Tribble-ations.  (Fun Tribble Pics Ahead.)

#2 Best Episode: Mirror Mirror.

Kirk, Scotty, and Uhura trade places with their doubles from an alternate universe.

Next Generation has a similar episode that tied for number 2.  All the actors come together in this one.

#3 Best Episode: Friday's Child

The Enterpise becomes involed in a power struggle.  Klingons are involed.
A newborn baby gets named after Mccoy and Kirk.  Even in the future there exists baby talk.

#4 Best Episode: Return to Tomorrow.

Kirk and Spock allow their bodies to be used by intelligent beings to build themselves bodies.
Way cool.

#5 Best Episode: Mudd's Women

Wives for sale, and a little pill that makes you pretty.

BONUS EPISODES: This is for hubby who was a sport and helped me search for some of these.

The City in the Edge of Forever.

Doctor Mccoy goes back in time.  Kirk goes to find him.
I think he likes this one because Joan Collins is in it.

Shore Leave.  We both liked this one.

Imagine a planet where you can live out all your desires just my thinking them up.

Now for favorite movies.  Brought to you by...

Locutus

#1

A bunch of whale save the Earth.  Kirk and Spock practice colorful metaphors.
Spocks swims in his undies.
And I rewound it ten times just to hear Kirk say "double dumbass on you."

#2

Picard and crew go back in time to stop the borg from assimilating Earth.
This is our first appearance of the Borg Sphere.  Check it out.

#3

The new Star Trek rocks!

Wait, where's my pink tribble?
Where are my tribbles?!

"Just before they went into warp, I beamed the whole kit and kaboodle into their engine room, where they'll be no tribble at all."

Scotty..nnoooo!!!!

We will add your individuality to our own.
You will become part of our collective.
Resistance is futile.

We have been assimilated.
We are now 2 of 420.

Hold on to your tribble or you might be next.

Hope everyone enjoyed the show.

Have a great Monday!

BEING PRESENT

I've read countless posts lately on the importance of social media and writing. Therefore, I have no desire to add my two cents. Instead, I'm going to send out a call to life. We were all blessed with a physical body and stuck in a relative realm loaded with illusions.

Explanation of relative realm for those not science savvy and in light of upcoming Trekkie fest. (There's no up without a down, no left without a right, short without a tall...I hope you get the picture. We need the opposite of everything for life to function in our realm.)

Here we place emphasis on work, goals, success....always about what we're doing. It's what society teaches us. We're expected to act like machines. And in doing that, we forget to be human, to be trully present in life. If we're not careful, we as writers, will miss out on the most interesting part of the story.

CLIMAX!

When was the last time you were so focused on what you were doing that you overlooked this?....

Best Art of Nature

love of your family

kiss lasting for more than five seconds...or minutes.  ;)

That's right.  It's a horny toad.

This weekend I'm inviting you to enjoy yourself.

                                     Celebrate those you love.

                                            Eat fun foods.

                                                 Rest.

Don't lose sight of what really matters.

Shine your brilliance onto the very sun.

                               Have a great weekend everyone!

See you all on Monday for spectacular Star Trek Fest.
                    And remember, resistance is futile.

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

The fabulous Alex Cavanaugh at Alex J Cavanaugh has given me this awesome award for constantly leaving comments on his blog. (Translation: Lurking at his blog at the crack of dawn) Alex is normally the first blog I visit each morning. His friendly, easygoing, movie-savvy guru attitude has me hooked...or it could just be his cool name. He's a genuinely nice guy. Did I use enough adverbs? Take that editors! Thanks again, Alex. I really appreciate it. You deserve this more than anyone for your dedicated blog-hopping.

Yes, I know it's been a week.  I should have passed it on long ago, but I had to admire the award, polish it, stick it under my pillow for a bit.

The way I see it I'm supposed to pass it on to someone who leaves repeated comments on my blog.  There are many of you who do that, and I appreciate you all.  So I decided to add a twist to this.  I'm going to pass on the award to someone I haven't awarded before, who not only comments, but leaves me some creative and hilarious comments.  And that person is...

Julie at Gypsy in My Soul.

This lovely, imaginative lady's humor cracks me up. I've found myself cackling on more than one occasion at her expert parries and wity comebacks. At times I feel like if I'm glancing in a mirror...except she's blonde. As an added bonus, she lives in Nebraska, real close to me. Beware, chances are we will run into each other one day.

Next:

After posting the panty meme I was Liebsterized twice again by Travis Mckensie at Magickless and Julie at the link listed above. It's safe to say I've been Liebstered up the butt. Thank you guys. You are the greatest and I do appreciate you.

Now, I'm passing these on to a few Newbies to my site to make them feel welcome.  These guys are:

Ruth at Welcome to Me
Doralyn at My Publishing Diary

Now you guys go out there, meet them, and spread the love.

Finally:
I went to a graveyard called Borders this weekend and couldn't buy a darn thing because it was too depressing, so I watched these movies instead.  Thought I would share.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules Poster Kid's big brother picks on him, and it is funnier than hell, really.  This is usually not my type of movie.

The Resident Poster Woman moves into an apartment.  The owner turns out to be a peeping tom pervert.  He gets his at the end but it gets hairy.

Also, Blogger has been giving me trouble.  I hope this posts like it's supposed too.

That'd be all for today. Enjoy your Wednesday everyone. Funny how I'm not posting on Tuesday and Thursday but it seems like I'm cramming it all in on Wednesday. Huh. ...^-^....

WONDERLAND

Good morning Blogger Buddies and welcome to another glorious week of me.  :)

*Friendly Reminder: If you are following me and for some weird reason I am not following you, please send me a comment.  This was not done on purpose.  I am a right-brained individual who abhors math, can paint some pretty interesting stuff with my toes, and can conjure up fantastic dialogue in the shower, but, for the life of me, I can't seem to be able to keep track of everyone.*

Stuck in Wonderland?

Did you ever get the feeling that what's going on around you isn't real?  We go through the motions.  We get up in the morning, work, tend to all the routine and dayly activities, and it happens over and over again.  We choose our careers, who we're going to marry, our homes, surroundings, even our friends.

It's an ongoing tea party.
And we know these guys have been spiking the tea.

But what if the real us is actually in a place that looks like this?

Trading ideas with the fox and the rabit that's always running late.

And reminiscing with the bookworm and his bong.

How real is this thing called life as we know it?

Are we a product of another writer's imagination?
Or are we in fact writing our own story as we go along?
As the years go by will the edits make us better?

Will we ever reach a stopping point?
Or are we one continuous work in progress?

These are all important questions.

What if one day we wake up from that dream in Wonderland and discover that none of it was real.

Wow!

All this time I've actually looked like this.

And I came from this place.

Maybe reality itself is only a matter of perspective.

So let's go out there on this fabulous Monday and enjoy the life we have and most important,
let's write our very best story.

...^-^...

Have a great day!

MORE WORLD BUILDING

FELLOW BLOGGEROOS: IT HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION THAT I'VE DEVELOPED A BLOGGING ADDICTION.  IN ORDER TO COMBAT SAID ADDICTION I'VE DECIDED TO REDUCE MY POSTING TO THREE TIMES A WEEK (MON,WED, FRI) DURING FREE DAYS I WILL DEDICATE MY TIME TO OTHER STUFF, LIKE MY WRITING.  I LOVE YOU ALL.

ON WITH POSTING

THIS IS THE DOORWAY TO MY UNTROUBLED KINGDOM.  ANYONE OUT THERE WHO IS FANTASY SAVVY AND LIKES ALL THIS STUFF AS MUCH AS I DO SHOULD KNOW THAT THE WORDS "UNTROUBLED KINGDOM" ACTUALLY TRANSLATE INTO "DIFFERENT REALMS."

SO SINCE WE'RE IN AGREEMENT THAT
                      THIS IS A DOORWAY.

                            YOU TELL ME.

                     WHERE DOES THIS LEAD?

WHAT'S WAITING ON THE OTHER SIDE?

                             IS IT FRIENDLY?

AM I MISGUIDED AND THIS IS JUST THE ENTRANCE
TO HEAVEN?...AH, BUT WAIT, THAT IS A REALM ALL
 ON IT'S OWN.

                         WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?

Happy Thursday!  One day closer to the weekend.  Tomorrow I'll post something cute...I promise not to be naughty.  :)

This one's for Alex  :)

QUESTION FOR FELLOW BLOGGERS.  HOW OFTEN DO YOU POST?
